UNC Football commit Davion Gause shines on ESPN as he shows why Tar Heels fans should be very excited about his eventual arrival on campus.

Davion Gause gave ESPN viewers a show on Saturday as the UNC football commit put together a very strong performance in his most recent high school outing.

The future Tar Heel finished the night with two touchdown runs, one that went for 45 yards while the other was an impressive 57-yard rush. He ended the game with 17 carries for 182 rushing yards along with the two aforementioned scores.

Gause, ranked a four-star by 247Sports is also ranked 333rd nationally, the 27th running back in the class, and the 48th player in the state of Florida for the class of 2024. Gause peaks his recruiting rankings in Rivals rankings as he is still considered a four-star but is ranked the 126th player nationally, 11th best running back, and 20th best player in the state of Florida.

Gause committed to the Tar Heels on March 6th over schools like Miami, Georgia, Florida State, Ohio State, and USC. Along with the mentioned programs, Gause also held offers from 24 other schools as well. His commitment came just two short days after he took an unofficial visit to Chapel Hill.

During his monster junior season a year ago, Gause carried the ball 145 times for 1,142 rushing yards, averaging 7.9 yards per carry. Gause helped lead Chamiande-Madonna Prep to a title in the Sunshine State’s new 1M classification.

Gause is off to a great start to the young 2023-2024 high school football season as he looks to further prove why he not only was selected to the Under Armour All-American game but why UNC football fans should be anxious for him to become part of the team’s future backfield.
