Former UNC Football quarterback TJ Yates is now the wide receivers coach with the Atlanta Falcons and had some good things to say about Mack Hollins.

Hey UNC football fans, are you looking for an NFL team to pull for this year with plenty of Tar Heel ties? Look no further than in the NFC South and the Atlanta Falcons – or maybe the Atlanta Tar Heels?

If you are unaware of what I am talking about, the Atlanta Falcons have three former Tar Heels on the coaching staff and three players on the current roster.

Former UNC quarterback TJ Yates is now the wide receivers coach and had some great things to say about former Tar Heel wide receiver Mack Hollins. First reported by the FalconReport with  FanNation, Yates said this about Hollins:

"“Mack has been an unbelievable addition to our room. From the leadership standpoint, he has really taken hold of that room, and everybody kind of follows him – him and Drake are really the ones that lead the charge every single day.”"

Yates also refers to 2022 Falcons first-round pick Drake London joining Hollins among the leaders in the wide receivers room. As far as Hollins’s NFL experience and what he brings to the Falcons?

"“He’s experienced, he’s been in the league a long time, he’s been on multiple teams, and really everywhere he’s gone, that team has somehow ended up winning. He’s a winner in my book. Not only the intangible stuff, but physically, as you can see, he looks like a tight end out there and brings a physical mindset to our room. It’s been a pleasure to have him so far.”"

Yates and Hollins never crossed paths in Chapel Hill, with Yates graduating after the 2010 season and Hollins didn’t walk on with the Tar Heels until the 2012 season. Hollins is entering his first season with the Falcons after signing a one-year contract with the franchise during the offseason. Yates will be entering his second season as wide receivers coach under head coach and former Tar Heel Arthur Smith.
