The UNC Women’s Soccer program earned some preseason All-ACC honors on Thursday afternoon while also being picked first by the coaches.

The 2022 NCAA National Runner-Up UNC Women’s Soccer team saw several ACC honors throughout the program this afternoon. Last week the top 25 was released by the United Soccer Coaches Association and the Tar Heels were ranked No. 2 in the country, behind defending National Champion UCLA.

Now, just over a week later, the ACC voting for the conference has been completed, and it involves three different Tar Heels finding a place on the 2023 preseason All-ACC team. Defender Maycee Bell, midfielder Sam Meza, and midfielder/forward Ally Sentnor were all three named to the All-ACC team.

The Tar Heels also were voted to finish first in the 2023 ACC Preseason Coaches Poll, receiving 166 total votes and 10 first-place votes. Defending conference champion Florida State was voted second with 146 total votes and 2 first-place votes.

The ACC is stacked with great talent, seeing seven conference teams ranked in the top 25 and five teams in the top-6. The Tar Heels’ three preseason All-ACC selections lead the conference with the most players by a single program. UNC Women’s Soccer will be attempting to win their first National Championship in more than a decade and their first ACC championship since 2019.
