This route by former UNC football wide receiver Josh Downs at Indianapolis Colts preseason practice is wild, you have to see it!

UNC football fans have had the pleasure of watching Josh Downs run routes and make defenders look silly for the last three years in Chapel Hill. Now Downs is already showing off at the next level and hasn’t even played a game yet…

Downs was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the third round with the 79th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Colts fans were immediately excited about this pick (as they should be). Shortly after the Colts drafted Downs, it become known that Reggie Wayne played a factor in his selection.

As seen in the above tweet, it is being reported that Downs is getting reps with the first and second string along with taking snaps as a returner for the Colts. Downs spent time as a punter returner for the Tar Heels during his sophomore and junior season, returning a total of 27 punts for 282 yards, averaging 10.4 yards per return.

The Colts are hoping their draft picks really take off as rookies in 2023 with the addition of Anthony Richardson, the No. 4 pick in the NFL Draft, and Downs, the offense has added several weapons to the franchise.

UNC football fans will certainly be looking forward to watching No. 1 take the field on Sundays for the Colts this fall!
