UNC Baseball program star Mac Horvath has earned more postseason honors from the ABCA this week for his phenomenal season.

Earlier this week, UNC baseball star Mac Horvath earned America Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) honors by being named to the First-Team All-Atlantic Region. Horvath has earned more honors from the ABCA and Rawlings NCAA Division I by being voted as a third-team All-American.

As all UNC baseball fans know at this point, Horvath was arguably the best player on the 2023 Tar Heel roster and carried the offense a long way all season, hitting 20 doubles, 20 home runs, and stealing 20 bases. Horvath joined UNC baseball teammate Vance Honeycutt, who accomplished this feat in 2022, as the first Tar Heel to hit for 20 home runs and steal 20 bases in the same season.

Horvath is a rising senior who could potentially go very high in the 2023 MLB Draft this summer. Rather he decides to return to Chapel Hill for his senior season or enter the draft will likely depend on how high scouts view him on their draft board. The UNC baseball roster could certainly use the boost from Horvath in 2024 and with Honeycutt returning to get healthy this offseason, there could be high hopes for the Tar Heels next season.

If Horvath does move on to the professional level, Scott Forbes and the Diamond Heels will have pretty big shoes to fill.
