UNC Football: Two Former Players Make Hall of Fame Ballot
By Jordan Falls
Two former UNC football players have been nominated to the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame ballot for the Class of 2024.
Early Monday morning, the National Football Foundation (NFF) College Football Hall of Fame ballot was released for the Class of 2024 and the UNC football program saw two former players make the list.
Ken Huff (1972-1974) and Julius Peppers (1999-2001) earned the honor of being placed on the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame ballot. In total, 179 players and 41 coaches across all college football divisions are on the ballot.
Huff and Peppers will be looking to join nine other UNC football connections in the Hall of Fame which consists of six players and three coaches.
The requirements to be nominated for the College Football Hall of Fame are that a player must be named first-team All-American during their playing career and be out of the college ranks for at least ten seasons. If a player is still active in the professional ranks, they can not be eligible for the Hall of Fame until they have retired.
The Class of 2024 will be announced next year with the ceremony being held on December 10, 2024, in Las Vegas Nevada. The entire list of nominees can be found on the official NFF College Football Hall of Fame website.
