UNC Football listed in top 8 for in-state 2024 recruit

The UNC football program made the cut for the top eight schools that four-star, in-state safety Malcolm Ziglar will be focused on this summer.

Malcolm Ziglar is a four-star safety from Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina and on Friday announced that he would be focusing his recruitment process on his top eight schools during the summer of 2023. The UNC football program made the cut for the Class of 2024 safety.

Along with the Tar Heels, the other seven schools that the North Carolina native will be focused on are Appalachian State, Clemson, East Carolina, Kentucky, Penn State, Notre Dame, and South Carolina. The six-foot-two safety is also scheduled to take an official visit to Chapel Hill on June 23rd this summer.

Ziglar has scholarship offers from over thirty-five different schools and has since narrowed his list to the eight listed above to focus on. According to his 247Sports profile, he is a composite four-star recruit listed as the No. 26 safety in the country and the No. 7 player in the state of North Carolina.

The lead recruiter for the UNC football coaching staff on Ziglar is co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach, Charlton Warren. While Ziglar is focused on these eight schools during his recruitment, he has said that his recruitment is still open and this is not his “final list” when it comes to his decision.

Nonetheless, the recruiting focus for UNC football continues to remain to target the best players in the state of North Carolina.
