The UNC Baseball team advanced to the ACC Semifinals this past week in Durham and had a player make the ACC All-Tournament Team.

The UNC baseball program entered the ACC Tournament as the No. 7 seed and went 2-1 during the ACC Baseball tournament this past week with a 2-0 record in pool play. The Tar Heels advanced to the ACC Semifinals to face No. 3 seed Clemson.

On their way to the Semifinals, they saw an excellent performance all tournament from junior catcher Tomas Frick. As a result, Frick earned his way to the ACC All-Tournament team.

During the week at the ACC Baseball Tournament, Frick’s numbers were impressive. Hitting two home runs, both in the same game for his third multi-home run game of the season and led the tournament in RBIs.

He got the Tar Heels offense going on Tuesday against No. 11 seed Georgia Tech with an RBI single. On Thursday against No. 2 seed Virginia, he went an impressive 3-5 with five RBIs, including a two-RBI single in the seventh, with Carolina holding a 4-2 lead. Then in the eighth, he had a bases-clearing three RBI double to put the lead out of reach from the Cavaliers and secure the Diamond Heels a spot in the Semifinal round.

Frick was one of the few Tar Heels that had success at the plate against the 3-seeded Tigers on Saturday in the semifinals. Frick was 2-4 at the plate with two solo home runs.

If the UNC Baseball team wants to make a deep run into June in the NCAA Tournament, they could undoubtedly use the type of offensive production from Frick that they received last week in Durham at the ACC Tournament.
