UNC Basketball Transfer Target Sets Decision Deadline

UNC Basketball transfer target, and former Towson guard, Nick Timberlake has set a deadline for a decision to be coming in the near future.

After several weeks of visiting schools and talking to coaches, UNC basketball transfer target Nicolas Timberlake will be announcing soon where he will play basketball next season.

Timberlake tweeted that it was “Decision week” on Sunday night. This comes two days after the former Towson guard visited the defending National Champions, Connecticut, on Friday.

247Sports lists Timberlake as the 21st-ranked player currently in the transfer portal and one of the highly sought-after mid-major transfers. Timberlake is one of the best shooters in the portal and shot 41% on three-pointers in 2022-2023 attempting 221 during the season.

Timberlake visited Chapel Hill in the early part of his recruiting process during the last week of March after having an in-home visit with the UNC basketball coaching staff. Prior to his official visit to Carolina, there was a Crystal ball prediction for the Tar Heels to land Timberlake. However, that disappeared a few days after his visit.

Timberlake then proceeded to take an official visit to Kansas before scheduling his most recent visit to Connecticut. We haven’t seen many predictions for where Timberlake will be playing his sixth season of college basketball next season, but we can confidently say it’s down to Kansas, Connecticut, and Carolina.

UNC basketball fans are desperate for some good news on the recruiting trail, in the portal or out of high school, and Timberlake becoming a Tar Heel would be significant news. We don’t know a date that Timberlake will be committing as he was very vague in his tweet.
