UNC Basketball player Puff Johnson entered the transfer portal last week and has since heard from a long list of schools.

The UNC basketball program lost Puff Johnson to the transfer portal last week. Since entering the portal, the transfer forward has since received plenty of interest from several schools according to a conversation he had with Jon Rothstein.

There’s certainly a wide range of schools on this from multiple power fives to mid-majors. An interesting school mentioned is none other than the Kentucky Wildcats, as John Calipari and his staff have at least entertained the possibility of pursuing the former Tar Heel.

One school on this list that stands out is ACC foe, Pittsburgh. Puff Johnson came to North Carolina after his brother, Cam, transferred out of the Panthers program.

Unfortunately, Johnson’s career just never worked out in Chapel Hill for all parties involved. Johnson couldn’t ever seem to stay healthy during his time with the Tar Heels. When he was on the floor, he only averaged 3.1 points per game.

Johnson will be a rising senior and have two seasons of eligibility to work with. Not only will he have his senior year, but is among the last group of student-athletes that have a COVID year option as well.
