North Carolina Tar Heels Week Preview: March 20 – March 26

Previewing the upcoming week for UNC Athletics for March 20, 2023, thru March 26, 2023. 

Hopefully, you checked out our new series, week in review, which we released this morning where we take a look back at the previous week in Carolina Athletics. Well, we have another series making a debut too here at Keeping it Heel where we will be doing a preview for the upcoming week.

Women’s Basketball – Today, UNC will play in the Round of 32 and be looking to advance to the Sweet 16 for the second season in a row as they take on the 3-seed, and host, Ohio State. The Tar Heels will face the Buckeyes at 4:00 PM on ESPN. Ohio State advanced to the Round of 32 on Saturday by beating 14-seed James Madison 80-66. If the Tar Heels are able to advance, they will face the winner of 7-seed Baylor and 2-seed UConn in Seattle next weekend.

Baseball – The Diamond Heels have a five-game home stand coming up with four of those coming this week. They will attempt to stay hot heading into a non-conference matchup with North Carolina A&T on Tuesday at 4 PM on ACCNX. Following their matchup with the Aggies, they will welcome rival Duke into The Bosh beginning on Thursday for a three-game set. Duke is 13-7 overall and 3-3 in the conference. Thursday night’s game is on ACC Network and will begin at 7 PM. Friday and Saturday are on ACCNX and begin at 6 PM and 2 PM respectively.

Softball – The Tar Heels will attempt to put an end to their losing streak this week as they will travel to Appalachian State on Tuesday for a mid-week tilt and then host Liberty on Wednesday in Chapel Hill. UNC will then travel to Boston College on Friday for a three-game ACC series.

Men’s Lacrosse – Looking to build on their impressive performance against Dartmouth from over the weekend, the Tar Heels enter the week ranked 14th in the national polls. They will face High Point University in Chapel Hill on Wednesday, before hosting Providence on Saturday. You can catch the High Point game on ACC Network at 7 PM and the Providence game on ACCNX at noon.

Women’s Lacrosse – The Tar Heels will be looking to bounce back from their first regular season loss since 2019 this week. UNC will welcome High Point to Chapel Hill on Thursday evening at 6 PM. Coverage will be on ACCNX. Following the matchup with the Panthers, the Tar Heels will face Clemson, which is in year one of its program, in Chapel Hill. The Tigers are 8-3 on the season. The game will begin at 2 PM and can be found on ACC Network.
