The UNC Basketball program recently contacted Towson guard Nicolas Timberlake in the transfer portal. Now the Tar Heels are taking the next step in recruiting him to come to Chapel Hill.

Earlier this week we learned that the UNC Basketball program was one of several schools that had reached out to Nick Timberlake, a guard from Towson, who had entered the transfer portal. This came after the Tar Heels had their own guards Dontrez Styles and Tyler Nickel enter the transfer portal.

Today Jake Weingarten, founder of Stockrisers, reported that both North Carolina and Ohio State were going to take the next step in the recruiting process.

Both programs have scheduled in-home visits with Timberlake for the upcoming week. Hubert Davis’ staff has reached out to several guards in the transfer portal over the past week and it appears Timberlake could be the one they are keying in on by scheduling an in-home visit.

Timberlake would bring years of experience and reliable three-point shooting to a Tar Heels team that shot 31.2% in 2022-2023. He will be entering his sixth collegiate season and will have one year of eligibility remaining.

We will continue to update you on the recruitment of Nick Timberlake and all players UNC is pursuing to fill out the 2023-2024 roster.
