Vance Honeycutt makes another incredible play for UNC Baseball in Game 1 of a three-game series with Pittsburgh.

UNC Baseball picked up a 17-7 win on Saturday in game one of a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Panthers. It was the Tar Heels’ fourth straight win and third straight game scoring 16 or more runs.

North Carolina sophomore centerfielder, Vance Honeycutt, once again added a play to his ever-extending highlight reel.

The game, originally slated for Friday, was postponed in the 5th inning due to weather and resumed Saturday afternoon. The Tar Heels led 9-7 before the game was delayed. Once the game resumed, it was all Carolina the rest of the way as UNC outscored the Panthers 8-0 on Saturday. The Tar Heels hit 6 home runs in the game, including two from junior Mac Horvath.

To add to his amazing play in the field, Honeycutt had a good day at the plate. In his five plate appearances, he had 2 hits, 1 walk, and 2 runs scored. Continuing to show off his athleticism in all aspects of the game, he also added a stolen base to his stat sheet.

Keep an eye out for Honeycutt’s insane grab on SportsCenter Top 10 on Sunday morning. We can almost guarantee that you’ll see it again. This will almost certainly not be the last time we see a highlight reel play from him.

The Tar Heels will look to continue their winning streak and keep the bats hot tomorrow against the Panthers. Game two is scheduled for 1:00 PM with Game three to follow shortly after.
