UNC Football: Cole Holcomb Signs Deal with Steelers
By Jordan Falls
Former UNC Football and Washington Commanders linebacker Cole Holcomb has reached an agreement with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Cole Holcomb’s rookie contract is up for the Washington Commanders and the former Second-Team All-ACC UNC football linebacker has found a new home in the NFL. Holcomb signed a three-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers this morning.
Holcomb played in seven games for the Commanders last season and was on pace for a career season, totaling 69 tackles before suffering a season-ending foot injury and landing on the IR.
In his four seasons with the Commanders, Holcomb has played in 50 games registering 388 tackles and 4.5 sacks.
Originally a walk-on in Chapel Hill, Holcomb has continued to develop his game as a defensive signal caller and continues to be one of the most prominent UNC defensive players we’ve seen have an impact in the NFL in quite some time.
