UNC Basketball: Random Observations Florida State Win
By Aaron Conrad
UNC Basketball continues its late-season push toward the NCAA Tournament with a key win versus Florida State 77-66. These are my random observations.
Welcome to the 2022-2023 season Dontrez Styles.
Styles has a way of making important three-point shots when they matter the most. Honestly, it was great to see him on the floor. Circumstances aside, I still think Styles can help this team. He’s proven it when it mattered most.
Let’s put the Leaky Black dunk on a highlight loop and just keep playing it over and over again.
Am I the only one that thinks Leaky Black could be such a great offensive player if he just let himself get lost in the game and played free? I am the first to admit that his defense is critical for this team’s success but he’s got so much more in there on the offensive end.
This is a critical win no matter what the time or place. The Tar Heels won a road game at Florida State. They set the stage early and didn’t give up the lead. They kept their NCAA Tournament hopes alive. They did so with their ACC Player of the Year essentially out for the game. They did it with a ton of turnovers.
Everything looks awesome when the ball goes in the basket.
I think we finally know that the key to anything moving forward is this team has to make threes. It’s who they are. It opens everything else up.
If Jalen Washington can make his first three of the season, he will make several more. He needs time and opportunity.
Seth Trimble needs to take 300 outside shots per day this summer.
Let’s finish off the regular season by beating Duke again.
