ESPN’s College Gameday will be in Chapel Hill for the UNC basketball team’s regular-season finale.

There is a lot at stake for the UNC basketball program entering the final week of the regular season.

The Tar Heels picked up their biggest win of the season thus far last night, but they still have work to do if they want to make the NCAA Tournament.  With games at Florida State and Senior Day against Duke coming up, Carolina has a chance to make a statement to the selection committee this week.

The game against Duke will be under the national spotlight as usual, and this morning it was announced that ESPN’s College Gameday will be in Chapel Hill for round two of the rivalry.

The college basketball preview show will be in the Smith Center for two hours from 10-12 on Saturday morning.

Gameday was in Cameron Indoor Stadium for the first matchup between Carolina and Duke earlier this month, with the Blue Devils picking up the victory over the Tar Heels.  Derrick Lively and Jeremy Roach had big games for Duke in the first meeting with UNC after Coach K’s retirement.

The atmosphere in the Dean Dome should be electric, as it will also be Senior Day for Leaky Black, Pete Nance, and Armando Bacot.

UNC needs to make sure they are not looking ahead to Saturday, as they face a dangerous Florida State team (that picked up a big win against Miami on the road yesterday) on Monday evening.  If the Heels are able to defeat the ‘Noles tomorrow night, Saturday’s matchup with Duke could be UNC’s opportunity to punch their ticket to return to the NCAA Tournament.
