Former UNC Basketball legend Tyler Hansbrough had an interesting week on social media and his podcast regarding former Kentucky Wildcat John Wall.

Welcome to 2023 where social media and podcast interviews cause quite a stir. Even among former college players and rivals. Former UNC Basketball legend Tyler Hansbrough and Kentucky Wildcat John Wall got into some back-and-forth this week. Let’s pick it up at the beginning where Wall made comments on former UNC Basketball player Theo Pinson’s podcast.

As shared by PrepHoops on Twitter:

Now one way to get under the skin of any Tar Heel fan is to come at “Psycho T.” Apparently Hansbourgh wasn’t pleased either. We give you his response on his Twitter account.

Nothing like a little UNC and Kentucky alumni rivalry to spice things up on the internet in the middle of January! The internet and social media went wild. Many have weighed in on their thoughts and feelings about the entire situation. Hansbrough is untouchable for the Tar Heel fan base. That happens when you go 4-0 at Duke, win a championship and pretty much dominate college basketball.

For his part, Hansbrough covered his side of the story on his SleepHawk Worldwide Podcast.

You can find his podcast here.

To summarize just a few of the comments, he is adamant that he did not say what Wall said that he did. He gives a number of reasons why he would not make those comments. One of my favorites was pointing out that former head coach Roy Williams would have had them running for things like that.

He also discusses not “big timing” any recruits or potential players.

Lastly, he says that he has no problems with Wall. Also, the comments about Hansbrough are not the only quotes from Wall that are causing a stir on social media. This one is from Cavaliers Nation on Twitter.
