Find out how the teams on the 2022 UNC football schedule fared during the postseason below.

The UNC football team came up one point shy of their tenth win in the Holiday Bowl against Oregon on the 28th.  How did the Tar Heels opponents from this year fare during bowl season?  Find out below!

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Notre Dame came back after trailing for most of the game to defeat South Carolina in the Gator Bowl.

The Irish finished the year strong after an 0-2 start and ended up having a solid season.  Marcus Freeman’s squad will look to have a better season in his second year as head coach.

Result: 45-38 Win vs South Carolina in Gator Bowl (9-4)

Duke Blue Devils

The Blue Devils closed out their season with a convincing win over UCF in the Military Bowl.

Duke reached nine wins in Mike Elko’s first season as head coach, making them the biggest overachievers in the ACC.  It will be interesting to see if Elko can keep up the positive momentum in Durham in year two.

Result: 30-13 Win vs UCF in Military Bowl (9-4)

Pittsburgh Panthers

Pitt won an exciting game against UCLA on a field goal in the final seconds.

The Panthers finished the year on a five-game winning streak, with their last loss coming in Chapel Hill against the Tar Heels.  It ended up being another solid year for Pat Narduzzi’s team.

Result: 37-35 Win vs UCLA in Sun Bowl (9-4)

Wake Forest Demon Deacons

The Demon Deacons closed out their season with a victory over Missouri in the Gasparilla Bowl.

Wake secured their eighth win after a rough stretch to end the regular season where they lost four out of their last five.  Quarterback Sam Hartman broke Clemson’s Tajh Boyd’s ACC career passing touchdown record in the process.

Wake’s win was a nice one for the ACC against an SEC opponent.

Result: 27-17 Win vs Missouri in Gasparilla Bowl (8-5)

NC State Wolfpack

NC State lost a low-scoring game against Maryland in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.

The Wolfpack failed to score a touchdown for the second time this season.  Outside of their win at UNC, it was a disappointing year for State after they entered the season with a ton of hype.

Result: 16-12 Loss vs Maryland in Duke’s Mayo Bowl (8-5)

Clemson Tigers

Clemson was disappointed in the Orange Bowl, losing to a Tennessee squad that was without Hendon Hooker and his top two receivers.

With DJ Uiagalelei transferring to Oregon State, Cade Klubnik got the start at quarterback and was not nearly as impressive as he was against UNC in the ACC Title Game.

The Tigers had an underwhelming year (given how good they have been in recent years) losing two of their last three games, including an upset loss at home to rival South Carolina.  UNC will face both South Carolina schools next season, as they open the year playing the Gamecocks in Charlotte and will take on Clemson in Death Valley at some point as well.

Result: 31-14 Loss vs Tennessee in the Orange Bowl (11-3)
