The UNC women’s basketball program is looking to get another impressive home win Friday night as USC Upstate travels to Carmichael Arena.

Coming off a big win Sunday against Wofford, UNC women’s basketball is back in action as they take on USC Upstate in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Following their only loss of the season at No. 4 Indiana, the Tar Heels have returned home and dominated their last two opponents and will look to do the same tomorrow night.

A win here for UNC will be big, as they soon will face off against No. 19 Michigan in their final non-conference game, before going into ACC play.

To improve their win streak to three, here is what the Tar Heels will have to do.

Key to Victory

The key for North Carolina is to just play their game.

It is clear that the Tar Heels are the more talented team, which means they won’t have to do anything out of the ordinary to win.

USC Upstate has struggled all season offensively, averaging only 46.7 points per contest. This could be a major problem for the Spartans, as UNC has yet to finish a game scoring under 63 points.

If the Tar Heels can play smart and do what they have been doing all year, this should be a blowout North Carolina victory.

Something to watch

In their most recent outing Sunday, North Carolina dominated Wofford and posted season-highs in various stats.

The Tar Heels posted a season-high in points (99), three-pointers (12), and field-goal percentage (50.6).

Against the Spartans, the Tar Heels may be in for another big night.

In USC Upstate’s last game vs. a ranked opponent, No. 14 Virginia Tech won by 55 points. The Spartans only managed to score 24 points and shot 20.9% from the field.

If USC Upstate comes out similar to how they did against the Hokies, North Carolina will have yet another big win.

Last Meeting

In their last meeting, North Carolina defeated USC Upstate by a score of 80-40 on December 16, 2015.

Stephanie Watts was phenomenal in this one as she posted 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 blocks.

These two programs have met twice, where UNC holds a 2-0 series lead.
