The UNC baseball program has released its schedule for the 2023 season.

After a season that featured an ACC Tournament Championship and a Super Regional appearance, the UNC baseball team will be looking to take the next step and make it back to Omaha for the College World Series this year.

This afternoon, the Diamond Heels released their 2023 schedule, as anticipation builds prior to Head Coach Scott Forbes’ third year running the program.

The Heels will open the season with a three-game series against Seton Hall, beginning on February 17th.  Carolina will also have non-conference series’ against East Carolina and Stony Brook prior to ACC play.  Some notable midweek non-conference opponents UNC will face include VCU, Penn State, Coastal Carolina, and South Carolina.

As far as ACC play is concerned, the Heels will open conference play on March 10th as they host Virginia for a three-game series.  UNC will also host Duke, Miami, Boston College, and NC State for three-game series, with the final home games of the year coming against the Wolfpack.

On the road, Carolina will travel to Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and Clemson in ACC play.  The series against the Tigers wraps up on May 20th, which will be the final game of the regular season.

The full schedule can be seen below:

The Tar Heels have a difficult schedule as usual, but with a talented and experienced roster expectations are high nonetheless.  With a lineup that features a star in Vance Honeycutt and plenty of quality bats like Mac Horvath, Alberto Osuna, and Tomas Frick around him, the Diamond Heels have a roster that could send them back to Omaha for the first time since 2018.
