UNC Football: Week Twelve Schedule Report for 2022 Opponents
By Mark DeMott
Find out where the teams on the UNC football schedule stand with one week remaining in the regular season.
Well, that was not fun.
The UNC football program had a rough weekend, as their six-game winning streak was ended at home by a struggling Georgia Tech squad.
Although this weekend’s loss has ended any slim hopes of UNC reaching the College Football Playoffs, the Heels still have plenty to play for over the next two weeks. An in-state sweep, ten-win season, ACC Title, and New Year’s Six Bowl game are all still on the table for Carolina.
We take a look at what is still on the table for Carolina’s 2022 opponents in this week’s schedule report.
Up Next
NC State Wolfpack
The Wolfpack lost their second consecutive game on Saturday at Louisville.
It has been a disappointing season overall for a State team that has struggled to build momentum after the season-ending injury to QB Devin Leary.
After a frustrating year (and the comments made by UNC QB Drake Maye earlier this season), the ‘Pack would love nothing more than to beat the Tar Heels on their own field.
It should be a very physical and intense matchup between two angry rivals on Friday.
Result: 25-10 Loss @ Louisville (7-4, 3-4 in ACC)
Looking Ahead
Clemson Tigers (ACC Championship)
The Tigers played one of their best games of the year on Saturday, handling Miami with ease in Death Valley.
After Tennessee’s loss to South Carolina on Saturday night, Clemson suddenly has hopes to get back into the mix for the CFP.
The Tigers host those upset-minded Gamecocks on Saturday afternoon in what is always a heated rivalry matchup.

Result: 23-22 Win @ Liberty (3-8,1-6 in ACC)
Miami Hurricanes
Miami was dominated by Clemson on Saturday afternoon.
The ‘Canes have to defeat Pittsburgh at home this weekend to reach a bowl game. Missing the postseason would be a major disappointment for Mario Cristobal’s first year as Miami’s Head Coach.
Result: 40-10 Loss @ Clemson (5-6, 3-4 in ACC)
Duke Blue Devils
The Blue Devils came up just short of their eighth win in a thrilling game at Pitt.
