The UNC Basketball season is just around the corner. Keeping It Heel begins our player previews with the guys that we love to see in the game – “The Biscuit Boys.”

Depending on how long you have been a fan of the UNC Basketball team, you know about the guys that we are going to preview today. Some call them “Blue Steel.” Others call them “The Biscuit Boys.” Regardless of what you call them, we know their names when the game is in control and the Tar Heels are salting away another victory. They were also a favorite of last year’s transfer legend Brady Manek.

See Brady Manek’s TikTok introduction to the Biscuit Boys here.

Let’s take a look at those players likely to be a part of everyone’s favorite players.

Rob Landry

Rob Landry is a 6-4 junior from Greensboro, North Carolina. Landry appeared in three games last season after joining the team as a former junior varsity player. He made the ACC Academic Honor Roll and NABC Honors Court for grade point average. Landry currently wears the number 15.

Creighton Lebo

Creighton Lebo is a 6-1 junior from Greenville, North Carolina. His last name is very familiar to Tar Heel fans because his dad played for the Tar Heels from 1985-89. Creighton appeared in 5 games last season. Creighton wears the number 25.

Jackson Watkins

Jackson Watkins is a 6-1 senior from Richmond, Virginia. Watkins joined the varsity team prior to the 2021-22 season. Prior to 2021, he was playing for the junior varsity team.  He appeared in three games last season for the Tar Heels. Watkins wears the number 30.

Duwe Farris

Duwe Farris is a 6-7 senior from Charlotte, North Carolina. He appeared in six games last season for the Tar Heels. Farris made the ACC Academic Honor Roll and NABC Honors Court for outstanding grade point average in 2022. Farris wears the number 34.

Beau Maye

Beau Maye is a 6-8 junior from Huntersville, North Carolina. If there is one member of this group that could possibly see some time during a game, it is Maye. Tar Heel fans likely don’t need any introduction to the Maye family. He wears the number 40. Maye had an exciting couple of moments in the Live Action as tweeted by @jhardy575.

One thing is clear, the “Biscuit Boys” represent the UNC basketball program in the classroom and on the bench. It should not be overlooked their role versus the regular players in practice as well. It is hard to preview the players overall but they are important to the team and Tar Heel fans. Hopefully, we see a lot of them (and their entertaining celebrations) this season.
