This is the moment that most UNC basketball fans wait for. This is the moment when you mark your calendars and clear the schedule.

On September 30, 2022, the Tar Heel men’s and women’s basketball will kick off their highly anticipated seasons with “Live Action with Carolina Basketball” presented by Dunkin’. This is the night we meet the team, players and get a small preview of the season ahead.

The announcement became official today around 10am from the UNC Basketball account on twitter.

The event formerly known as “Late Night” will be our first chance to see this years men’s and women’s basketball teams. While we don’t know the full agenda for the evening, it will likely be similar to previous years as announced on GoHeels.com

"Carolina Basketball’s Gameday host B Daht will once again emcee the festivities, which include player and staff introductions, a combined three-point shooting contest and intra-squad scrimmages by both teams."

It is no secret that the upcoming basketball season should be exciting for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams. While the first polls are not out officially yet, most sites have consistently listed the men’s Tar Heel team as the number one ranked preseason team. The women’s team has been listed somewhere between number ten or twelve in most polls.

Regardless of polls and predictions, both teams are loaded and set up for a great 2022-2023 campaign. “Live Action” will be our first opportunity to meet the new players and see them in action.
