UNC Men’s Basketball to face Michigan in Inaugural Jumpman Invitational
Following a historic run, the UNC men’s basketball program will be tested with a tough nonconference schedule filled with Big Ten opponents.
The UNC men’s basketball schedule added its third Big Ten opponent for the upcoming season on Thursday, as the inaugural Jumpman Invitational schedule was announced.
For the second straight season and fifth time in six years, North Carolina will battle the Michigan Wolverines. On December 21st, the Tar Heels will take on Juwan Howard’s squad at 7:00pm at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.
College basketball fans will receive a sequel of a matchup featuring two of the best big men in the country when Armando Bacot and Hunter Dickinson face off.
The Wolverines join Ohio State (CBS Sports Classic) and Indiana (ACC/Big Ten Challenge) as Big Ten opponents on the Tar Heels’ schedule this coming season. North Carolina could also potentially meet Michigan State in the PK85 tournament, as the two historic programs are in the same bracket.
Michigan and North Carolina most recently met in the 2021 ACC/Big Ten Challenge in Chapel Hill, with the Tar Heels earning a commanding 72-51 victory.
Fellow Jumpman schools Oklahoma and Florida also headline the event in the Queen City.
With conference expansion talks surrounding the world of college athletics, the UNC men’s basketball program could receive an early sneak-peek at a Big Ten basketball schedule.
