The UNC football staff looks to continue their recruiting success as a 2023 target has narrowed his list and set a commitment date.

Mack Brown and the North Carolina Tar Heels are one step closer to improving their top-20 recruiting class in 2023.

UNC football recruiting target and four-star cornerback Braeden Marshall announced his top three schools on Sunday. Marshall has narrowed his list down to Wisconsin, Nebraska, and the Tar Heels.

As Marshall announced his list of finalists, he also announced that he would pick his future school on July 30th.

According to 247 Sports, Marshall is a top-400 recruit and a top-40 cornerback as a rising senior. The Lake Mary, Florida native is a coveted prospect with double-digit Power 5 offers.

Prior to announcing his top three, Marshall listed Pittsburgh and UCF in his final five.

With the defensive back’s commitment date approaching, Mack Brown and the North Carolina staff will battle for his services. Currently, Marshall has not received a Crystal Ball prediction, meaning his commitment could come down to the wire.

North Carolina can potentially lose multiple defensive backs to the NFL Draft in 2023, which would give Marshall the chance to make an early impact inside Kenan Stadium.

The Tar Heels’ pursuit of Marshall has been led by cornerbacks coach Dre Bly. Charlton Warren, the program’s co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach, has also been assisting in the recruitment of this four-star talent.

Chapel Hill was the last visit that Marshall made on his recruiting tour. Was the visit enough to prove that the UNC football program is the right fit for him?
