Day’Ron Sharpe- Brooklyn Nets

Day’Ron Sharpe worked his way to becoming a first-round draft pick in his one season with the UNC basketball program. During his rookie season, Sharpe started eight games as a member of the Brooklyn Nets, a  team that made the playoffs last season.

Sharpe had a productive rookie season averaging 6.2 PPG, 5 RPG, and 57.7 FG% in 12.2 minutes per game.  During his time in Vegas, Sharpe looked like a player who is looking to take his game to the next level.

The big man averaged a double-double during summer league action, as he scored12.8 points and recorded 10 rebounds per game.  He also flashed the underrated passing ability that Carolina fans saw in his one season in Chapel Hill, as he averaged over two assists per contest.

Sharpe also had one of the highlight plays of the entire summer league, as he slammed down this one-handed poster dunk against the 76ers:

At just 20 years old, Sharpe is far from a finished product in terms of developing his game in the NBA.  With Brooklyn currently exploring trade scenarios for both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, look for Sharpe to possibly have a bigger role for the Nets next season.
