A former UNC basketball player has decided where he will be continuing his college career.

Anthony Harris, a former four-star recruit and member of the North Carolina basketball program, has found a new home. The combo guard from Woodbridge, Virginia that began his collegiate career back in 2019 will be suiting up for Archie Miller and the Rhode Island Rams this fall.

Harris’ decision to leave the University of North Carolina came after three seasons spent mostly on the bench, much of which was caused by a series of injuries that began during his high school playing days. He also missed the second half of the 2021-22 season for reasons that were not disclosed but assumed by many to be academics-related.

From 2019-2022, Harris played in 35 games and averaged 3.5 points, 0.9 assists, and 0.7 rebounds while shooting 47.8 percent from the floor and 35.7 percent beyond the three-point arc. His best numbers came during a five-game stretch in his freshman season before tearing his ACL when he averaged 6.2 points and one rebound while shooting nearly 43 percent from long-range.

We’re wishing Harris all the luck in the world at his next post and will continue to follow him throughout his collegiate journey. For more on him and former Tar Heels throughout the college basketball landscape, check back with us throughout the upcoming season.
