Former UNC basketball standout Reggie Bullock struggled in the Dallas Mavericks’ Game 1 loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Similar to the rest of the Dallas Mavericks, former UNC hoops standout Reggie Bullock struggled in the team’s Western Conference Finals Game 1 defeat to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.

Bullock shot 4-for-12 from the floor and 3-for-10 from three-point range in 36 minutes of play, accounting for 12 of the Mavericks’ 87 points in the 25-point blowout loss to Steph Curry and company. He added three rebounds, two assists, and a steal for the fourth-seeded Mavericks.

His final numbers on the night looked a lot like All-Star point guard Luka Doncic, who managed just 20 points on a 6-for-18 shooting performance overall, 3-for-10 beyond the arc, and 5-for-8 at the free throw line. Of the four Mavericks players to score in double-digits, only Spencer Dinwiddie came away with respectable shooting numbers. He was 5-for-11 from the floor off the Dallas bench, hitting 3-of-7 shots from long-range and 4-of-5 at the charity stripe.

Despite his obvious struggles on the offensive end of the court, Bullock did notch his fourth double-digit scoring performance in eight games this postseason and he played some solid defense against the Warriors. The former Tar Heel is averaging just over 10.1 points per game on 30 percent shooting from the floor and 32 percent from three-point range.

Bullock and company will look to get off to a better start against the Warriors when they take the court at Chase Center for Game 2 on Friday night.
