UNC Football Recruiting: Five-star QB headed to Chapel Hill this weekend
UNC football recruiting is at an all-time high thanks to the return of Mack Brown.
Mack Brown’s return to the sidelines has elevated UNC football recruiting over the past few seasons and that continues to be the case as one of the nation’s top prospects will be in Chapel Hill for a visit this weekend.
Five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis will be back on campus for an unofficial visit with the Tar Heels, who are among the 23 programs to have already extended a scholarship offer to the 6-foot, 185-pound Charlotte native. Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Texas are all in the mix as well.
Davis, the No. 2 prospect in the 2024 class according to the 247Sports Composite, has already been on the UNC campus a few times, so the fact that he’s returning for another visit is a good sign for Mack Brown and company. The Tar Heels have had a ton of success on the recruiting trail over the past few years and specifically with the quarterback position.
They reeled in fringe five-star signal-caller Drake Maye in their class of 2021 haul — which followed the commitment of four-star dual-threat QB Jacolby Criswell the prior cycle — and he could very well be the starter in Chapel Hill this season. A commitment from Davis would make for a seamless transition for the Tar Heels in a few years from one standout QB to the next.
The Tar Heels have the nation’s 11th-ranked recruiting class in 2022 and had the No. 14 class each of the two years prior.
