The UNC basketball program has a date with the UCLA Bruins in the Sweet 16 and a former Tar Heel has us even more hyped for the game than we already were.

North Carolina is in the Sweet 16 for the first time in three years and Tar Heel fans are as excited as they’ve been in a long time.

The Tar Heels have already exceeded expectations — at least from those outside the program — having made it out of the NCAA Tournament’s first weekend thanks to a pair of impressive victories, the second of which came at the expense of the top-seeded Baylor Bears.

As if they needed more reason to be excited about the game, UNC fans got a pre-game hype video narrated by none other than former North Carolina sharpshooter Danny Green.

Green is right. The Tar Heels earned their place in the NCAA Tournament and the opportunity to advance to the Elite Eight with a win over the Bruins on Friday night. And we are proud of them, having watched them grow up and become a team over the past few months.

Do the Tar Heels have more left in them this month? Are they destined for a trip to the Final Four in New Orleans? With each victory, they get one step closer. Tonight’s game against UCLA is the next step in that journey.
