Former Tar Heels react to North Carolina’s big win over the top-ranked Baylor Bears in the NCAA Tournament’s Round of 32.

The North Carolina Tar Heels were the first team to punch their ticket to the 2022 NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16 thanks to a thrilling overtime win against the top-seeded Baylor Bears. It’s the Tar Heels’ 30th appearance in the Sweet 16, more than any other program in the history of college basketball.

Following their big win, one that wasn’t without its fair share of drama and a number of highly-questionable calls by the officiating crew, a slew of former Tar Heels took to Twitter to comment on the upset victory heard ’round the college basketball world.

The Tar Heels were merely a bubble team a month ago but have now won 14 of their last 17 games and will advance to the tournament’s second weekend for the first time since 2019. Now 26-9 on the season, North Carolina will play the winner of the Round of 32 game between St. Mary’s and UCLA.
