Game time and TV channel for North Carolina’s first-round NCAA Tournament game

The 2021-22 college basketball regular season has come and gone and Selection Sunday revealed the North Carolina Tar Heels’ NCAA Tournament fate.

The eighth-seeded Tar Heels are headed to Fort Worth, Texas for a game against the ninth-seeded Marquette Golden Eagles for an opportunity to play the winner of the 1/16 game between Baylor and Norfolk State.

While we’re still processing the matchups and storylines involved in the Tar Heels’ bout with the Golden Eagles, we already know when they’ll be playing and how fans can watch the game on television.

North Carolina will tip-off with Marquette at 4:30 p.m. EST on Thursday at Dickies Arena and the game will be televised on TBS. It’s then that the Tar Heels will look to build onto their 24-win season, the first in the head coaching tenure of Hubert Davis.

You can sign up for a free-trial of Sling TV to stream UNC and all the other first round matchups.

They’ll lean heavily on first-team All-ACC performer Armando Bacot, who was snubbed in conference Player of the Year voting despite putting up Tim Duncan-like numbers all season long. The Tar Heels will also need solid performances from their streaky backcourt duo of Caleb Love and R.J. Davis, as well as contributions from fifth-year senior forward Brady Manek and defensive stopper Leaky Black.

Keeping It Heel will be there with complete coverage of the game and everything leading up to it.
