Former UNC basketball standout Reggie Bullock is riding a hot streak that’s seen him score at least 20 points in four of his last five games.

Dallas Mavericks small forward Reggie Bullock notched 22 points in a 103-94 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday night. He went 8-for-14 for the game and 6-for-10 beyond the arc to go along with nine rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The win was the Mavericks’ 14th in their last 19 games, a stretch that’s seen them skyrocket to a 31-23 record and sole possession of second-place in the Southwest Division of the Western Conference. They now trail the Memphis Grizzlies by just 5.5 games as we approach the NBA All-Star break.

For Bullock, Sunday’s game marked the third consecutive time in which he’s scored at least 20 points and the fourth over his last five games. It’s his best stretch of the 2021-22 season by far, as he’s averaged just 7.8 points per game in his lowest-scoring output since the 2016-17 season.

His recent offensive tear is thanks to a hot shooting stroke that’s allowed him to convert nearly 53 percent (29-of-55) of his shots from the floor and 50 percent (21-of-42) from three-point range in those four 20-point games — his only four of the season to this point.

There’s no doubt that the surging Mavericks would benefit from the more potent offensive version of Bullock, who continues to provide a solid defensive presence for the team despite his struggles scoring the ball this season.
