Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program are getting a boost to their rotation for Saturday’s game at home against Georgia Tech.

After missing a few games both Dawson Garcia and Kerwin Walton are set to return to action Saturday night. Davis announced in his Friday press conference that both are set to return vs the Yellow Jackets after missing a few games.

Garcia has missed the past two games after suffering a concussion in the win over Boston College on January 2nd. He went down hard on his head during the win and had to go into concussion protocol as UNC lost a key piece to their starting lineup. In his absence, Brady Manek stepped in and got the start in the loss to Notre Dame and win over Virginia.

Walton’s last appearance was also the win over the Eagles on the road. He’s been in COVID-19 protocols since then but has been since cleared.

Here is what Davis had to say about the duo in his presser per Inside Carolina:

“I expect them to be out there on the floor and to play the way that they have been all season. We really missed them. We missed them at Notre Dame. We missed them even though that we played really well against Virginia. Both of those guys bring so much and add so much value to this team on both ends of the floor.”

Garcia is averaging 10 points and 5.5 rebounds per game this season while shooting 43.9 percent from the field. Walton is having a bit of a struggle after an impressive freshman campaign, averaging just 3.9 points and 1.5 rebounds while shooting just 35.2 percent. That includes shooting just 35 percent from the three-point line after emerging as the team’s biggest perimeter threat a year ago.

UNC is looking to make it two-straight wins and a 4-1 record in conference play on Saturday before their big matchup with Miami who leads the ACC next week.
