UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis and his team are in the middle of Atlantic Coast Conference play here in January but things on the recruiting trail will start to pick up as well.

One prospect that UNC has their eyes on is five-star forward Gregory ‘GG’ Jackson. A recruit out of South Carolina that is emerging as one of the top players in the 2023 class. And UNC is continuing their push to land him.

It’s no secret that UNC has prioritized Jackson as their top target right now and at one point, they were the favorites to land him. While they still might be, Jackson isn’t ready to make a decision just yet and ahead of a trip to Duke, other teams are also getting involved.

Monday was a busy day for Jackson in his recruitment with two programs offering and two pro leagues making a push as well. Jackson landed offers from Auburn and Texas A&M while the G-League and Overtime also offered him contracts to go pro.

With the two offers from the Tigers and Aggies, Jackson is now up to 15 total offers in his recruitment as things continue to pick up.

Still, even with the four new offers, the Tar Heels appear to be the favorites and have all four crystal ball predictions for Jackson on 247Sports. I don’t think Auburn, Texas A&M or the pro leagues are UNC’s biggest competition, either.

I mentioned that visit to Duke, scheduled for January 21st, that really could be the biggest obstacle left for the Tar Heels in this race. You can never count the Blue Devils out and all it takes is a visit for things to go the opposite direction. In-state South Carolina is also making a strong push as well.
