UNC Basketball Recruiting: This 2024 prospect wants to hear more from Tar Heels

As UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis finds his footing during this Atlantic Coast Conference season, he’s been doing a good job of recruiting for the future of the program.

Davis is set to turn in a four-man class in 2022 that should be near the Top 10 when it’s all said and done. They already have one commit in 2023 with five-star guard Simeon Wilcher pledging his verbal back in October. But the focus has shifted towards the 2024 class as well.

Right now, just one prospect has an offer from UNC and that’s in-state forward Jarin Stevenson who is in the Tar Heels’ backyard. Others are starting to hear more and more from the program as Davis and his assistants have been on the recruiting trail.

But there’s one player in particular that is hoping UNC gives him more attention.

Per Andrew Slater of Pro Insight, 2024 shooting guard Cam Scott is hoping his recruitment picks up a little more and he wants interest from UNC, Duke, and Tennessee:

Slater also notes that Scott is set to visit UNC and N.C. State sometime in the month of January to get a feel for both programs. That’s good news if UNC does want to reciprocate the interest for the recruit.

The 6-foot-5, 165-pound shooting guard hails out of Lexington, Kentucky and has a total of 9 offers so far. Clemson, Florida State, South Carolina, Georgia, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Winthrop have offered.

With Scott wanting that interest in UNC and the Tar Heels keeping tabs on him, it shouldn’t take long before the offer from Davis arrives. The Tar Heels have been taking it a bit slow with the 2024 class but do have some intriguing targets to keep an eye on moving forward. And Scott is one of those players.
