The UNC women’s basketball team remains undefeated on the season and has moved up in the Associated Top 25 poll as a result.

The North Carolina women’s basketball program won a pair of games last week against Atlantic Coast Conference teams, moving to a perfect 13-0 on the season and 3-0 in league play.

As a result, Courtney Banghart’s squad made a big jump in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll that was released on Monday. Now, the previously 24th-ranked Tar Heels are up five spots to No. 19, as they’re off to their best start since the 2010-11 team rolled off 14 consecutive victories to begin the season.

North Carolina is one of just three remaining undefeated teams in women’s college hoops, along with No. 4 Arizona (10-0) and Colorado (11-0). This season also marks the first time in nine years that the UNC women have won their first three games in ACC play.

Their toughest test of the season comes on Thursday when they travel to Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh to take on the No. 5 North Carolina State Wolfpack. That kicks off a stretch of five ranked opponents in a span of seven games, with the others coming against No. 20 Notre Dame, No. 16 Georgia Tech, No. 17 Duke and again against the fifth-ranked Wolfpack.

Even though they’ve yet to play their first ranked opponent of the season, the Tar Heels have put together an impressive resume to this point. They lead the nation in scoring margin at 33.4 points per game. They’re sixth in the nation in scoring with 83.2 points per game and ninth in scoring defense at 49.8 points per game.
