UNC basketball fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see Hubert Davis and his team in action again.

After Tuesday’s game against Virginia Tech was postponed due to COVID-19 issues with the Hokies, North Carolina was set to travel to Boston College this weekend to take on the Eagles on New Year’s Day. While UNC will still make the trip this weekend, they will do so a day later.

The program and Atlantic Coast Conference announced this week that Saturday’s game has been moved back one day to Sunday. The two teams will now tip off on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. for their new start.

UNC hasn’t played a game since December 21st, beating Appalachian State in the Dean Dome days after losing big to Kentucky. They are 1-0 in conference play and were hoping to start off strong, but with COVID-19 still raging through the country two of the Tar Heels’ games have been impacted.

They aren’t the only ones.

Several games in the Atlantic Coast Conference have either been delayed or postponed so far this season. And we expect that to continue into January as conference play really gets going. The latest games moved were Duke vs. Notre Dame and Pitt vs. Virginia Tech as the ACC tries to weather this storm.

UNC’s game against Virginia Tech has not been rescheduled as of yet but likely will be soon.
