Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program are set to begin Atlantic Coast Conference play here as the calendar flips to 2022. The UNC staff has put together an impressive recruiting class for 2022 and is off to a good start for 2023. But now, they are starting to scout players in 2024 as well.

So far, just one 2024 prospect has an offer and that’s Jarin Stevenson who is in UNC’s backyard in Chapel Hill. But another prospect is hoping to gain more interest from the Tar Heels.

Small forward Trentyn Flowers caught up with Phenom Hoop Report to talk about the latest in his recruitment. In the interview, Flowers talked to Patrick O’Brien and mentioned that North Carolina was a team that is showing interest in him but has yet to offer.

He also revealed that he is set to take an unofficial visit to UNC as well as Kentucky here in the coming weeks.

"Phenom: Same question for Kentucky and North Carolina.Flowers: Have unofficial visits planned for both and the same goes for them.Phenom: But Kentucky and UNC are schools that you plan to visit, correct?Flowers: Yes sir."

The 6-foot-8, 180-pound Flowers is a prospect that plays at Huntington Prep out of Huntington, West Virginia. He doesn’t have a ranking designation on 247Sports yet but Rivals has him as the No. 33 overall player in the 2024 class. He does have a total of 16 offers so far in his recruitment.

As for UNC’s involvement, it’s good to see that he is taking an unofficial visit but will they offer down the line? With just one offer out, it makes sense especially for a player of Flowers’ talent to earn an offer and an extended look from a Blue Blood program like UNC. If they do enter the race, they will likely be battling fellow Blue Bloods Kentucky and Duke.
