Dawson Garcia

Garcia scored the Tar Heels’ first nine points of the game and finished with a team-high 20. He hit 7-of-12 shots for the game and 1-of-3 from three-point range. He also knocked down 5-of-6 free throws while hauling in a season-high 10 rebounds and dishing out three assists. The sophomore forward turned the ball over just one time in 32 minutes of play.

Armando Bacot

Bacot recorded his sixth double-double of the season on Tuesday night, finishing the game with 14 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. He added two assists and one block and had only one turnover for the game. He was much more assertive and dominant in the post in the second half and was making big plays on both ends of the court.

Leaky Black

Okay, so Black got beat on defense a couple of times in the first half; nobody’s perfect. He was really solid other than that, especially in the second half, and he also did something we don’t see much of from him: score. He gave the Tar Heels nine points on an impressive and somewhat uncharacteristic 4-for-5 shooting performance, including a made three-pointer and another that was reviewed and changed to a long two-pointer. He also had five rebounds, an assist and a steal, and didn’t turn the ball over a single time in 31 minutes on the court.

Brady Manek

Manek dropped 13 points in 19 minutes against the Paladins, and he did it on a smooth 6-for-9 shooting performance. It was nice for him to see the ball go in the hoop a little easier after the 2-for-8, 0-for-6 game he had over the weekend against Elon. He also pulled down six rebounds, but did commit a team-high three turnovers.
