UNC Basketball: Grading Tar Heels’ game against Georgia Tech
Grading every UNC basketball player for their performance against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
The North Carolina Tar Heels put together an impressive performance against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in their first Atlantic Coast Conference action of the season on Sunday afternoon. Following an outstanding showing against the Michigan Wolverines in the Big 10/ACC Challenge last week that saw the Tar Heels win by 21 points, North Carolina defeated Georgia Tech by a final score of 79-62 at McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta.
After a bit of a sluggish start — and a hot-shooting start for the Yellow Jackets — the Tar Heels got it together toward the end of the first half, and went into the intermission with the game knotted at 31 apiece. The second half was a completely different story, as the Tar Heels shot incredibly well, and played really good defense against the Yellow Jackets and the nation’s leading scorer, Michael Devoe.
A number of Tar Heels played extraordinarily well in this one, including four-fifths of the team’s starting lineup, and one outstanding senior reserve. We’ll start with those five standout players, who all received A’s for their performance against the Yellow Jackets.
