Grading every UNC basketball player for their performance against the Michigan Wolverines

The North Carolina Tar Heels put together their most impressive and complete performance of the season on Wednesday night when they toppled the 24th-ranked Michigan Wolverines by a final score of 72-51 in the Big 10/ACC Challenge.

Hubert Davis’ squad was markedly better against the Wolverines than they were in any of their previous six games this season — including the hard-fought loss to Purdue in the Cheez-It Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament. Prior to Wednesday night, that game was the Tar Heels’ gold standard for effort and tenacity this season, but that all changed over the course of 40 minutes against the Wolverines.

It was a lot more fun handing out grades for this one, as most of the Tar Heels performed at a much higher level than they did in any of their previous half-dozen games. Caleb Love set the curve this time around, playing his most dominant game of the young season against Juwan Howard’s team. It wasn’t just Love that got an A, though, as a pair of UNC bigs performed admirably, too.
