R.J. Davis

Davis’ performance against UNC Asheville wasn’t his best, even though he was just one of two Tar Heels to notch double-digit points for the game. He shot well enough for the game — 5-for-11 overall and 2-for-6 from long-range — but he committed a game-high four turnovers for the second consecutive game to go along with three personal fouls. When you compare that to the lone assist he dished out, it’s just not the kind of game you want your lead guard to have, especially over 29 minutes of gameplay against a weaker opponent.

Caleb Love

Love played a game-high 33 minutes, yet he managed just four points, a season-low, on a 2-for-5 shooting night. He did, however, collect six rebounds, five assists and two steals. Love’s had at least two turnovers in each of the last four games, and he’s averaging nearly three per game during that span and a 1.64 assist-to-turnover ratio. He stuffed the stat sheet a little bit against the Bulldogs, but the Tar Heels simply cannot have a guard as talented and capable as Love score only four points in a game.
