Hubert Davis and the UNC Basketball program are off to a great start with recruiting, landing a four-man class in 2022 and have already landed one five-star player for 2023. But while the 2022 class is all but wrapped up, Davis and his staff are pushing hard for another 2023 recruit.

Five-star power forward G.G. Jackson has become a priority recruit for the Tar Heels after landing Simeon Wilcher last month. Jackson has now become the prized recruit for UNC and they haven’t been shy in revealing that.

Jackson was on campus during the Late Night With Hubert event to unofficially tipoff the season and while the visit went great, it was made known that he was their priority right now.

The 6-foot-8-inch, 210-pound Jackson is a native of Columbia, South Carolina and has a total of 13 offers. And while UNC, Duke and South Carolina have all been in to visit and he’s already made a trip to Chapel Hill, he’s taking another official visit here in November and he’s headed to Georgetown.

Per Jamie Shaw of Rivals, Jackson will take a visit to Georgetown sometime in November:

"Jackson has been busy visiting campuses this fall. He has taken trips to Duke, NC State, Wake Forest, Clemson, Virginia Tech as well as being on campus at North Carolina and South Carolina multiple times. As the high school season is starting, the visits are slowing down some but he does have one more visit scheduled.“I am still trying to set dates for other visits, but I do have a visit set with Georgetown the first week of November,” Jackson said."

While UNC appears to be the favorite, landing some crystal ball predictions already, this recruitment isn’t over just yet. Both Georgetown and South Carolina are legit contenders and we can never rule out Duke, especially if they continue to show interest.

But Davis and the Tar Heels have to feel really good about their chances for this elite five-star prospect.
