UNC Basketball: Five bold predictions for 2021-22 season
By Zack Pearson
The 2021-22 UNC Basketball season tips off in just two weeks as the program officially ushers in the Hubert Davis era in Chapel Hill.
Davis is taking over for legendary head coach Roy Williams who announced his retirement in April of 2021 after a historic career with North Carolina. Williams offered up his recommendation of Davis being the next man up and the program granted that wish.
So here we are.
Davis has done a good job so far in terms of recruiting, keeping both recruits for the 2021 class and then landing four commitments in 2022 and one in 2023 so far. He’s proven that he can get it done off the court but the real test comes when the actual games are played.
North Carolina is coming off a disappointing early exit in last season’s NCAA Tournament, bowing out to Wisconsin in the first round. That followed up a down year for UNC when they really struggled to win games and would have missed the tournament if there was one.
But things are looking up for the program going into this season and with their first game looming, we wanted to take a look at five bold predictions for the upcoming season.
Please note: These are BOLD predictions. Things that we would LOVE to see happen and would be surprising in a way.
