Matas Buzelis (2023)

The 6-foot-10, 175-pound small forward is a Chicago native but currently plays for Brewster Academy out of New Hampshire and has a total of 10 offers in his recruitment including one from the Tar Heels. Matas Buzelis has yet to receive an offer from Duke but the Blue Devils have shown a lot of interest over the past few months. He also has an offer from Wake Forest, Florida State, Syracuse, Kansas and Arizona among others. Kentucky is also showing interest.

While UNC has made a trip to visit the talented recruit they may have their work cut out for him.

Despite no offer yet, Duke does appear to be in really good shape for Buzelis. They have already been in for a visit recently and are expected to amp up the push to land him. Duke’s biggest threat in this might not even be North Carolina either as Kentucky is a serious contender as well. A recruiting insider also hinted that Duke and Kentucky are battling back and forth for him:

UNC will stay in this thing for the stretch but this one just feels like Duke will pull it out in the end and land another player that is from Chicago.
