We are just a month away from the start of the 2021-22 college basketball season and for the UNC Basketball program, they are ushering in a new era. Head coach Hubert Davis is set to enter his first year as the head guy for the Tar Heels after Roy Williams announced his retirement in April.

But this season also marks the final one for Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Coach K is set to retire after this season and will hand over the reigns to assistant Jon Scheyer. It will truly be the start of a new era of this UNC and Duke rivalry in 2022 when Scheyer and Davis are both in charge for their respected programs.

However, the recruiting battles between the two have already started.

Scheyer and Davis are set to go at it for top recruits for the next several years and we could see some interesting battles down the line.

Let’s take a look at some recruiting battles that Scheyer and Davis are already in here in October and where we think each recruit is leaning.
