The UNC Football program returns to the field on Saturday afternoon, hosting Florida State in their second game of a three-game home stand. After a rocky 2-2 start, UNC rebounded with a win over Duke to get to 3-2 on the year and they are hoping to build some momentum moving forward.

While the Seminoles enter this game at 1-3 overall and fresh off their first win of the year by beating Syracuse last week, the Tar Heels cannot take Mike Norvell’s team lightly. The Seminoles stunned then No. 5 UNC in Tallahassee last year in primetime and are hoping to once again beat a Mack Brown-lead Tar Heels team this year.

UNC has stumbled in a pair of games this season to unranked opponents, leaving some cause for concern going into this one. But in terms of the Vegas odds, they love UNC in this one.

Our friends over at WynnBet have the Tar Heels as 17-point favorites at home against the Seminoles, a three-score spread. If you’re looking for other lines to bet, WynnBet has the following for Saturday’s game:

  • TOTAL points 64.5
  • Florida State TOTAL points 23.5
  • North Carolina TOTAL points 41
  • First half spread: UNC -10
  • First half total points: 33.5

As you see above, the lines think UNC will win this game and control the first half in Saturday’s matchup as well. They believe UNC is a two-score favorite early and could hold the lead the entire game.

Betting advice

UNC is 3-2 against the spread in their first five games this season, failing to cover in their losses to Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech. However, if you’re looking to bet the total points in the game at 64.5, that might be your best bet. UNC and their opponents have gone over 64 points in three games with UNC leading the way in the scoring department.

The hesitation comes with Florida State. The Seminoles are averaging 25 points per game, 12 less than UNC who is at 37. You might be counting on the Seminoles to go higher than their season average even if UNC hits 37.

The pick

Florida State OVER 23.5 total points and UNC UNDER 41 total points.
