The UNC Football program fell to 2-2 on the year after an embarrassing loss to Georgia Tech in Week 4 on the road. The Tar Heels jumped out to a 7-0 lead and even got a blocked punt to set up the easy score.

But from there, Georgia Tech made the switch to mobile quarterback Jeff Sims they took over and rolled past the Tar Heels. UNC looked awful for most of the game and the struggles mounted.

With the loss, UNC pretty much ended any chance of winning the Coastal Division and potentially reaching the title game in Charlotte. All of those preseason hopes and the hype that was around the team is now gone with this loss as it was embarrassing all around.

On Sunday, the Tar Heels also saw their ranking take a tumble out of the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll. UNC entered the game against Georgia Tech at No. 21 and are now on the outside looking in receiving just one vote in the latest poll.

The ACC as a whole had a wild week in terms of the poll with No. 9 Clemson falling to No. 25 after losing to NC State. The Wolfpack climbed into the poll at No. 23 with Wake Forest right behind them at No. 24. And that’s it for the ACC for the week.

Brown and his staff now have to prepare for a home game against Duke on Saturday morning, a game the Tar Heels really need to win with a tough schedule looming. Following that game, UNC has Florida State at home and then Miami at home before traveling to take on Notre Dame on the road.

They are going to have to find a way to get at least two wins out of that to keep any bowl hopes alive.
