As the calendar turns to Fall, it means the 2021-22 UNC Basketball season is right around the corner as the Hubert Davis era tips off.

North Carolina enters this year in the first season of the Davis era and fresh off an opening round loss in the NCAA Tournament. Despite losing Walker Kessler, Garrison Brooks, Day’Ron Sharpe and Andrew Platek, the Tar Heels welcome in a solid two-man recruiting class plus transfers Justin McKoy, Brady Manek and Dawson Garcia.

UNC should find themselves right in the mix for the Atlantic Coast Conference this year and hopefully a deep NCAA Tournament run.

On Thursday, the ACC announced their official schedule for the upcoming conference season for all teams and this year UNC will open up play on December 5th, traveling to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech. The conference opener comes four days after the Tar Heels are set to face Michigan in the ACC/Big Ten challenge and then they will finish up non-conference play before getting into the thick of conference play.

The Tar Heels home opener is on December 29th when they host Virginia Tech and they follow it up with a game at Boston College on January 1st.  UNC will take on Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Duke, N.C. State, Boston College and Louisville twice this season.
